Exigence is defined as a rhetorical concept that can help writers and readers think about why the text exists. It should answer the question, what prompted me to write your informative review.

In the beginning of this class, I had never really come across exigence as a term. One of the main reasons was because I had only written in my native language, especially scientific kind of writing. Therefore, I had a harder time understanding what it was. I had difficulties separating exigence and purpose.

I believe that now I have a really good understanding of exigence. Looking back at assignments, I can say I have a better understanding of exigence and I am able to answer the question behind it. “What encouraged me to write this text?”.
